I have always had a love of dogs; some might call it dogcentric. My dad would say if he couldn't find me, he would look for the nearest dog. My initial career, however, was working with horses. I trained as a riding instructor, running pony clubs at a local riding school, and also worked in stud work, polo, and training horses for riding for the disabled. Life took a turn when family arrived, and I trained and worked as a nurse for 20 years. Throughout this time, I've always had dogs and attended dog training services, mainly because my close friend was running the classes! I felt I couldn't let her down by association! After retiring from nursing two decades later, the same friend encouraged and mentored me to become a trainer, focusing on dog training solutions using positive reinforcement techniques. So here we are, turning 50 with a new direction to follow!
